Sometimes, Lazy Is The Way To Go

Posted in Cooking on October 25th, 2005

So last night I was feeling like a lazy bum, but also wanted something warm and comforting for dinner, so I made myself an old standby. Egg In The Hole aka Toad In The Hole and a bazillion other names. Here’s how it goes:

Butter
1 Egg
1 Slice Bread

Melt some butter in a skillet over medium heat. While the butter is melting, use a shot glass to cut a hole in the middle of the bread. When the butter has almost stopped bubbling, place the bread into the pan and then crack the egg into the hole. Allow to cook until the partly set 1-2 minutes, the flip carefully and allow to cook for 1 more minute. This allows for a runny yolk. If you like firmer yolks, increase the times appropriately. Gently remove from the skillet and eat immediately.

Welcome to deadbeefcafe!

Hopefully, this will become a fun place for information on computer security stuff, geek stuff, and good food.

Computer security stuff will be anything from random rants about security, and will likely there will be a lot of rants, reviews of security products, security advisories, and anything else that falls into the computer security pervue.

Geek stuff will be anything geekly, weird stuff, cool stuff, pretty stuff, pretty much anything that will appeal to the geek “oh shiny” factor.

Food will be lots of reviews, home-made goodness, fine dining, not-so-fine dining, whatever we think is appropriate.
